For your consideration is this Ernest Ziegfeld sterling and ebony pendant and possible earrings. Ernest worked with Harry Bertoia that is why this looks similar to Bertoia's work. The earrings are not marked but are the same material and style so are probably Ernest Ziegfeld. Condition: Excellent with age appropriate wear.
Dimensions: Pendant 3 1/8" long x 2 3/8" wide weighing 18.1 grams. Earrings: 3 3/8" long x 3/8" wide x 1/2 deep. The pendant is marked sterling Z the earrings are not marked.

He graduated from Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield and received his Master of Fine Arts degree at Cranbrook. He also attended Washington University in St.Louis and New Mexico Highlands University. In 1959, he was Assistant Professor of Fine Arts at Utah State University in Logan teaching metalsmithing and three-dimensional design from his Hyde Park Studio. He produced Hollowware, flatware, jewelry, and woodenware. He exhibited in the Walker Art Center's Second Contemporary Exhibit on Paper. He worked with Harry Bertoia probably meeting him in Cranbrook and again in California and some of his jewelry is very reminiscent of the work of Bertoia.
